Eggs, you might be surprised to learn, are great at combating depression. You must make sure, though, that what you make includes the yolk. The yolk is the most important part of the egg iwhen it comes to helping you cheer up. Eggs, the egg yolk particularly, are rich in B vitamins. B vitamins can be great for boosting your mood. This is because these vitamins increase the function of your brain’s neural transmitters (the parts of the brain that affect how you feel). Eat a few eggs to jolly up!
Put together a trail mix from seeds and/or nuts. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etc are all great for raising your mood. This is because seeds and nuts have plenty of magnesium which raises your brain’s serotonin levels. Some grains are truly excellent for fighting off bad moods. Millet, quinoa, barley, etc are great at helping you feel happier. They help you feel full as well which can actually help to make your mood better. Feeling starved can truly make you feel terrible!
