The ingredients needed to make southern hospitality pie:
  1. Get topping
  2. Take 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  3. Take 1 cup coconut flaked
  4. Prepare 1/4 cup butter
  5. Get 1 dash caramel topping
  6. Prepare 1 dash chocolate topping
  7. Prepare pie
  8. Take 1/2 oz cream cheese
  9. Prepare 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk
  10. Make ready 1/2 packages cool whip
  11. Get 1 packages gram cracker pie crust

Mom contributed quite a few to this cookbook. We grated the zest to save for future recipes. Adding lemon juice to start cooking. We used a ready-made piecrust for this, easier than making the crust.

  1. melt butter in skillet on low
  2. add pecans and cocunuts to brown
  3. cool topping for use later
  4. mix cream cheese and condensed milk until smooth
  5. fold in non dairy whipped topping (cool whip)
  6. pour into crust
  7. sprinkle with topping
  8. drizzle with caramel and chocolate
  9. cover and freeze until hard
  10. remove from freezer 10 min before serving

Adding lemon juice to start cooking. We used a ready-made piecrust for this, easier than making the crust. Pour in pie plate over crust. Cover with another crust and crimp edges. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings to cool off and complement the pie's richness.
