The ingredients needed to make Rice Krispies Treats:
  1. Take 4 1/2 tbsp butter
  2. Make ready 1 10 oz. bag of marshmallows (I use the large ones)
  3. Prepare 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  4. Get 2 dash Salt
  5. Prepare 6 cup Rice Krispies cereal
Steps to make Rice Krispies Treats:
  1. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a 5 qt. (or larger) pot on stovetop on low heat
  2. Once butter is melted, pour entire bag of marshmallows in at once and stir, coating them all with butter
  3. Continue stirring marshmallows until they are all melted and creamy. *You have to continually stir them to prevent scorching and/or stiffness
  4. Once marshmallows are melted, remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt
  5. Pour Rice Krispies in all at once and stir to coat them evenly with marshmallow cream. *Be careful to not over stir and crush cereal. I use more like a folding method
  6. Pour mixture into a greased 9x12 cake pan. *I spray my pan with veggie or canola oil
  7. Butter your hands with the remaining butter and remove mixture clumps left in pot and/or on spoon. Pat the mixture down evenly in the pan
  8. Let cool for at least and hour before cutting or covering. Store covered at room temp, do NOT refridgerate

Cold water fish are excellent for eating if you wish to combat depression. Cold water fish such as tuna, trout and wild salmon are high in DHA and omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA are two things that improve the quality and the function of your brain’s gray matter. It’s true: consuming a tuna fish sandwich can earnestly boost your mood.

It’s easy to fight your bad mood when you consume grains. Quinoa, barley, teff, millet, etc are all excellent for helping you be in a happier state of mind. They fill you up better and that can help you with your moods also. Feeling famished can actually make you feel terrible! The reason these grains can improve your mood is that they are not hard for your body to digest. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps bring up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, raises your mood.

Green tea is really good for your mood. You just knew it had to be in here somewhere, right? Green tea is loaded with an amino acid called L-theanine. Studies show that this specific amino acid can basically stimulate brain waves. This helps sharpen your mental energy while at the same time relaxing the rest of your body. You probably already knew it is not hard to be healthy when you consume green tea. Now you know that green tea can elevate your mood as well!
